A More Consistent Toolset

We've rebuilt the interface behind every formatter and minifier on Utilio around one shared design, so the experience is now identical no matter which tool you're using.

What Every Tool Now Has

• Flexible view modes — show Input only, Output only, or both side by side, depending on what you're focused on
• Layout switcher — arrange Input and Output horizontally or vertically, whichever fits your screen and workflow better
• Text or file input — paste directly, or upload a file straight from your device
• Restore last content — come back to a tool and pick up exactly where you left off, instead of starting from a blank page
• Built-in examples — every tool ships with ready-to-try sample data, useful for quickly seeing what the tool does
• Export options — download your result in the right format for that tool, not just copy to clipboard
• Data analysis — a quick summary of your input or output (size, element counts, and similar useful stats depending on the tool)

Formatter and Minifier Specific

Tools that format or minify data — JSON, XML, and more to come — additionally include:

• Syntax highlighting — a collapsible, color-coded tree view of your formatted output, so nested structures are easy to scan and explore
• Indentation control — choose 2 spaces, 4 spaces, or tab, applied live as you change it

Why This Matters

Previously, each tool had its own layout, its own button placement, and its own quirks — useful once you learned it, but every new tool meant relearning the basics. Now the shell is shared: once you're comfortable with one formatter, every other one behaves exactly the same way. New features we add to this shared foundation — like the tree view or restore-last-content — roll out to every tool that uses it, not just one at a time.

Personalize It

Visit Tool Preferences to set your defaults — preferred layout, indentation, and syntax highlighting — so every tool starts exactly the way you like it.

We're rolling this out across all formatters and minifiers first, with the same consistency coming to generators, converters and other tool categories next.
